We are excited to announce that our Charity of the Month for January, 2021 is F.R.E.E. (Freedom and Restoration for Everyone Enslaved)! For every referral we receive this month, $10 will be donated back to this amazing non-profit in Berks County that aims to end human trafficking.
Did you know there are approximately 100,000 to 300,000 people trapped in human trafficking annually in our nation? This includes labor and sex trafficking, men, women and children. Through education and prevention efforts, they increase awareness about Sex Trafficking and Commercial Sexual exploitation. Their mission, along with education, is providing aftercare to survivors.
F.R.E.E. opened a drop-in center for women who are being sexually exploited in Reading. It serves women's most basic and critical needs, including a safe place to rest, confidentiality, food, and personal care products.
In addition, donations that F.R.E.E. receives go towards their Refuge Home, which houses women who are coming out of sex trafficking and exploitation in our county.
